A New Way to Share

It is a big step removing Facebook from my life, as I have been on for more than ten years and it has been the sole way in which I connect with my family and friends and share all the milestones in my kids' lives. However, as I am finishing downloading pictures and saving conversations I had with John while he was alive, I am sure that it is the right move. The constant distractions that social media serves up takes me away from my time at home to be with my boys or be productive. I find myself angered at ignorant posts and responses, and as soon as I delete someone whose opinion I don't care to indulge in it seems to create unnecessary conflict. So, best to delete everyone and start fresh. I hope to use this blog as a way to start fresh. I want to try to update it at least monthly, if not bimonthly with pictures and/or stories of what we have been up to. I will then email it to my list of family members who may be interested in following us and I can control who sees what and won't be distracted by unimportant things while posting pictures. I hope in that way to continue connecting with my family and close friends now that the countdown to deleting Facebook comes to a close.
